Experience
I was a previous teacher and tutor for a private after-school program where I worked closely with children between the ages of K-12th grade. I am familiar with the SAT, AP tests, CBEST, GRE, and MCAT. I enjoy tutoring because I like helping students understand topics that were once difficult for them. Unfortunately, a lot of teachers in our school system cannot provide all their students with individualized help due to the increasing teacher to student ratio. I would like to help bridge the learning gap and assist students that need a little more individualized help. I am a very patient tutor who knows the importance of making sure my students understand their class material. I find joy in seeing my students excel in class because I know how much hard-work and dedication they have put into their studying. I've taken many upper-division science and math courses which include and are not limited to: Biology (1 year), General Chemistry (1 year), Organic Chemistry (1 year), Biochemistry (1 year), Physics (1 year), Calculus, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Virology, Immunology, Developmental Biology, Neurobiology, Animal Biology, Cellular Physiology, Microbiology, Biometrics, Human Sexuality, and Molecular and Cellular Basis for Disease. I worked as an Undergraduate Researcher through the McNair's Scholars Program. My research in pig muscles was published in the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB). Also, I was accepted into the UCLA Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Enrichment Program in which I was able to work closely with doctors and gain experience working with the underserved communities.
